What Freud Can Teach Us About Item Upgrading

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile,  item upgrading   is among the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment give an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can acquire them by the destruction of enemies, finding them in item spheres or buying them from karma merchants. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or through high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed by removing them from an item.

The primary function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. For instance, a specially created glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade will enhance the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the upgrade components to which the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components give a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next rank of the weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has an maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For instance, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of objects that all share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good option to increase the value of a set and unique items, but it's important to remember that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to zero. The same amount of power die is used to reroll an item as it would be to level it up. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons, as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

If the player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can roll any item they've accumulated during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item will offer the same extra bonuses as the original, but the stats will also differ.

Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and the attributes it requires. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that are wearing the gear.

The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipment that is equipped. This is done by talking to an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade items. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. For weapons, each step will add an additional 5% to its damage.

The upgrade of an item will make it more powerful, but it will reduce its effectiveness. It is therefore important to balance the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to reach their full potential. One player may wish to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) to discover what it could be.

The primary reason why people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options are to invest real money or grind lots. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I think it was meant to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but since equipment generally drops quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels, you'll usually replace the item before it gets too old. It's also not worthwhile to level items that have gem sockets since the value of the gem will outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template of the item as well as the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the level of the item. Armor and weapons will have different costs, with the latter typically being more costly. The upgrade template lists the stats to be added to an upgraded item and also the current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For example weapons with an 8% upgrade decrease will decrease its ilvl by 8 - 8%.

The item will be upgraded to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can determine the amount of damage or defense the item will suffer when it is upgraded. This is shown below the cost and the upgrade percentages. Aside from equipment for practice, all armor and weapons gain these same stats when leveled up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and Tiaras.
